Nanny Job
We live in Maida Hill, London W9, a lively area with many drop-ins and social activities for children and their carers. We have one son born in February 2010. Mum works in IT and Dad is an engineer. We are pragmatic in our approach to parenting - we are open to ideas from many different sources and try to strike a balance between nurture and structure, finding an approach that works in our specific circumstances. We’re an active family; we enjoy sport, get around town by bicycle and are looking forward to travelling by bicycle with our son when he is old enough to go on a bike seat.
Mum is going back to work in November 2010, so we are looking for a live-out nanny from October 2010 to allow settling-in time. You will have sole charge of our son for 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) during November and December 2010; this will increase to either 3 or 4 days per week in 2011. Hours will be 9 am – 7 pm.
We offer a down-to-earth, supportive environment with a focus on loyalty. We’ve been lucky to work for excellent employers, so we understand the importance of good relationships at work and valuing and appreciating employees. We are hoping to find someone who will build a long-lasting relationship with our son. We are happy about the decision that Mum will go back to work, and we will encourage a close relationship between her son and his nanny – the more loving, affectionate adults he has in his life, the better.
Role
We are looking for a nanny with a calm, laid-back attitude, who is playful with our son and friendly and sociable with other adults and children. Your role includes:
• Providing a warm, responsive and consistent environment
• Making healthy meals
• Taking our son out to parks, activities, etc. on foot or public transport. (A driving licence is not needed).
• Tidying and clearing up after our son
Requirements
• Fluent English
• Able to supply CV and 2 checkable references
• Able to accept childcare vouchers
• Non-smoker
We will offer a competitive salary to the right person.
We would like to discuss sharing your time and care as a nanny with another local family, probably another family which also has one child. Alternatively we would discuss you bringing your own child with you.
To apply, please Email your CV by mid-August 2010.
